hi sis, i wanna ask something. how do i know the latest edition for our 2nd sem textbooks ? and besides ABA Bookstore, where else can i get the books, i mean in KL/Selangor ? i'm from malacca, and seems like i cant find any bookstores selling those books right here.

Ooh, that's a tricky one. Usually, at the start of the seemster, the lecturers will tell us which edition we should have. But the bookstores should be able to tell you if it's the latest edition or not. I bought all my books from ABA Bookstore, so I'm not sure if it's sold anywhere else. ;)

Not at all, it's nice to be able to talk to the juniors for a change. :D

DO:
- Pay your absolute fullest, fullest, fullest attention to E-Language. You seriously will need it, if not by the end of the semester, then by the time you get into semester 3. Make sure you get it. Read the book 10 times if you need to.
- Memorise your phonetic alphabet early on. It makes life easier.
- Pay attention in Sociolinguistics and Human Comm. If you listen enough, I reckon you can sit the exam with very little revision.

If possible, try and get active in APB. Whether you join APPLES, or Young Scriptor Club, or anything. There's a lot more than just academic achievement, and we want a lot of participation from juniors and seniors alike. ;)

wow, i can smell the hard work i'm gonna need to do in sem 2. thanks for ur advice sis :) btw how can i join APPLES or YSC ? any requirements? and what does APPLES do?

Sem 2 is all about E-Language. The rest should be easy enough as long as you understand the content. ;)

For APPLES, there should be an AGM or something that can let you join. Either way, the best thing you can do is to find yourself one of APPLES's committee members and let them know if you want to volunteer for any events. I'm under APPLES, so I can always update you if there are any activities you can join as an AJK. :D

As for the YSC, that's a little tricky, at least at the time being. Being a new club (only established last semester), we have a lot of work to do but with very little budget to do it. I'll have a talk with the committee members about it. We're eager to involve juniors especially, but with no real idea how to do it (due to it being online).

APPLES = Applied Languages Society. Most of the events involving LG220 will be under APPLES. ;)

Sure thing! I'll let you know if there are any activities that we can get involved in next semester. ;) Hopefully, there will be a lot more than last semester. I figured that was you. 8D I think I've accepted the friend request. I'm Maisarah. *bows* Call me by name. ;)
